Allegheny Region Porsche Club of America ARPCA is proud to offer the opportunity for qualified Advanced drivers to attend our PCA National Instructor Training Program and Motorsport Safety Foundation Level 2 Instructor Training.
The Allegheny Region of the Porsche Club of America (ARPCA) is hosting a PCA National Driving Instructor Training Program event in conjunction with a Motorsport Safety Foundation Level 2 Certification Class.
- When: Saturday March 23, 2024
- Time: 8:00AM to 3:45PM
- Where: Pittsburgh International Race Complex
- Cost: The cost for Advanced Drivers wishing to participate in the Instructor Training School as a student is $100. There is no cost to Instructors wishing to participate as a Mentor/Trainer
If you are an Advance Driver and have been considering becoming an HPDE Instructor, this is the first step to get in the right seat. Regardless whether you drive with a PCA Club or any of the countless HPDE event providers, completing a recognized Instructor Training Program is a prerequisite to being invited to instruct at an HPDE event.
PCA National Instructor Training Program and MSF Level 2 Instructor Training curriculum will be administered by a PCA National Trainer. This program satisfies both PCA and MSF Instructor Training requirements.
The PCA National Instructor Training program will provide you an opportunity to develop the skills needed to instruct students wishing to improve their Performance Driving skills on a race track.
Event Organizer-led training is a hands-on, in-depth program that occurs at and on the track. It includes classroom instruction and on-track mentoring rides and puts HPDE Instructor Candidates in a position to become right-seat-qualified.
Upon successful completion of the program, instructor candidate will be granted the opportunity to:
- Acquire a PCA National Drivers Education Instructor Training (NDEIT) Number which is used by PC DE Event Organizers to identify Instructors who have completed the PCA National Instructor Training Program.
- Acquire a Motorsport Safety Foundation Level 2 Certification credentials which are used by many HPDE Event Organizers to identify Instructors that have successfully completed the MSF L2 Training Program.
Note: The completion of the program will provide you the necessary credentials for submital to the governing body. Instructor Candidate will be expected to register with either PCA , MSF or both and pay the registration fees.
Registration:
This event will be held on Saturday March 23, 2024 at Pittsburgh International Race Complex. Registration is limited and fees will be as follows:
- Instructor Candidate will be charged $100 for attending this event. The fee covers materials, track access, continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments
- Mentors will not be charged for volunteering to assist with this event.
Event requirements
Minimum Instructor Candidate Requirements:
- PCA Instructor Candidate must have the approval of his/her Regional Chief Instructor. If the candidate’s region does not have an active DE program, then approval of the CDI in a region that Instructor Candidate activity participates is necessary.
- MSF Instructor Candidate must be referred by a Chief Instructor of a MSF Certified Event Organizer. Also the Instructor Candidate must have completed the MSF Level 1 Certification Coarse and successfully passed the Level 1 online test.
- A Instructor Candidate not affiliated with PCA or MSF programs may request consideration by providing a log of all events attended as an Advanced Driver and a letter of recommendation from a Chief Instructor for which the Instructor Candidate has driven with.
- Instructor Candidate at the very least satisfy the following driving skills
- The potential candidate must have at least ten (10) days of DE experience in the Advanced Run group for one or more regions.
- Drives the correct line consistently
- Can communicate and drive at Advanced Run Group speeds
- Knows the limitation of the car and their ability
