2024 BLAZING PADDLES and CLUTCHES HPDE
RMR/PCA High Performance Driver Education Event at High Plains Raceway
Saturday and Sunday June 8 and June 9
Join us in June for summer fun at High Plains Raceway! A friendly team of instructors & volunteers will be there so you can enjoy the summer sun in your Porsche at the most exciting track in Colorado. Dinner will be served Saturday night after beer thirty. Come see all your old friends and make some new ones at Blazing Paddles and Clutches in June at High Plains Raceway.
Location: High Plains Raceway, 17 miles east of Byers on US-36 (Deer Trail)
Event Registration fees:
Either day: $250 Each Driver
oth days: $395 Each Driver
Helmets: SA or M from 2015 or 2020
Charity: Judi’s House, a nonprofit that provides support for youth and their families grieving the loss of a loved one. You can donate at registration.
Lunchtime charity Rides: ($20/car) on Saturday & Sunday benefit Judi’s House of Denver. Everyone can participate in the Lunchtime Rides around this fabulous track. No helmets required, take as many passengers as you have seatbelts!
- Lunches for volunteers and instructors will be provided.
- Saturday Dinner - $25 Menu TBD
- There will be beer-30 on both Saturday and Sunday, and the club provides water during the day to help keep you hydrated.
This Event will be using Deferred Billing, your credit card will not be charged until Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
Dates: Gates open by 11:30 am Thursday June 6, before the event and remain open 24hrs/day until after the event ends on Sunday (the paddock is closed Sunday night). HPR offers open lapping 1-5PM on Thursday and all day Friday. You can register for this on MotorsportReg.com. These open lapping days are a separate charge from the HPDE event.
Check-in: 7:00 AM -- 7:55 AM Saturday and Sunday Please check-in before the mandatory 8:00 AM drivers' meeting.
Drivers’ meeting: Starts at 8:00 AM (each day) in the Pavilion. Green run group drivers' meeting following the all drivers' meeting, (each day) in the Classroom.

Event requirements
National PCA membership number and membership status will be verified as part of the registration process. If you do not include a valid PCA membership number (or forward a pending membership confirmation from PCA to the registrar), a $10 non-member fee will be assessed.
You must be 18 or older with a valid driver's license to participate in this event.
You are required to use a Snell-certified SA2015 or M2015 or newer helmet. You will need to wear clothing made of natural fibers such as 100% cotton. Short-sleeve shirts and shorts are now allowed. Closed toe shoes are required while driving. Helmets will be checked at Pre-Tech or Tech at the Track where you may obtain an RMR/PCA helmet sticker confirming th Snell rating. A limited number of loaner helmets and HANS devices are available.
No convertibles or open cars without roll bars, trucks, or non-Porsche SUVs.
NEW PCA RULE: If you have added a racing-type seat in order to use 5-point, 6-point or 7-point harnesses (which must be replaced every two years or every five years depending on whether they are SFI certified or FIA certified belts, respectively), you must also have and use an approved Head and Neck Restraint device. Further, if there is to be a passenger (e.g. instructor), same must be provided and used by the right-seater.
We cannot accommodate two (2) driver cars if both drivers are novice drivers and attending their first DE event. Also, three (3) driver cars are not allowed.
Attendance at RMR DEs at HPR will be limited to a total of 135 drivers per day, including up to 30 Novice and Beginner drivers depending on the number of Instructors registered. To implement this, everyone registering for the DE will be listed as ON HOLD, subject to CONFIRMATION BY THE CDIs.
Your priority in being confirmed for an event will depend on the date and time you register. When an event fills up, further priority will be given to PCA members.
