About this event
This seminar serves as training for PCA members who will judge concours cars at the Chesapeake Challenge. It is highly recommended that all potential judges, and experienced judges, attend this seminar. Attendance is optional if you attended last year's training event.
In this seminar you will learn:
- How to correctly fill out a score sheet and what notes you should be making on it
- How our points system works for scoring cars
- How to be consistent in your evaluation of concours cars
In scoring cars for Chesapeake Challenge, we focus on preparation, cleanliness, and overall condition. We do not penalize non-originality or imperfections such as stone chips. All cars start with a score of 300 points. Individual points are deducted for areas that are deemed ill-prepared. All deductions will be in whole points. We will not use quarter or half points. Actual score sheets will be shared with concours entrants upon request. As in previous events, we will be making use of age points. Cars are allotted additional points according to their relative age within their class.
Our goal with this judging school is to inform all judges of our rules, and provide training that will help the judging teams be consistent in scoring cars.
