NOTE: This Registration is for two separate events. You may register for only one of them or for both of them.
MA HILL CHARITY DRIVE
Last year everyone seemed to enjoy the scavenger hunt format for the MA Hill Charity Drive. This year it will be a photo rally. It should be a fun, new format for us!
You may be wondering what a photo rally is and how does it work. At 9AM there will be a driver’s meeting at Kwik Star in Ankeny (6155 SE Delaware Ave – just south of Sam’s Club). After the driver’s meeting a car will be released every 2 minutes. This will space cars out so you will not be leading and following each other. When you are released, you will be handed written route instructions, a page of photos, and an answer sheet. You will need to follow the written route and put in order the pictures you have been given as you see them along the route. The winner will be the car that has the pictures in the correct order. There will be no bonus points for the time it takes you so no need to race. There will be a tie breaker of PCA themed questions if multiple cars get the order correct. Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
You will need a navigator / co-pilot to help with the written route instructions and be an extra set of eyes to find the items and record the order. Doing this solo will be nearly impossible since you will have to read instructions, find items from the pictures, and write down the answers. You can have multiple people in the car so feel free to bring kids or friends!
Part of the game is having to follow instructions so no Ride with GPS for this drive. We are going old school!! (This will make you really appreciate Ride with GPS on our other drives!)
The route should take you around 2 hours and you are free to stop along the way for any break you may need. This is a good introduction drive for any new members since you can do it at your own pace and stop whenever you need to. You can have your normal co-pilot drive if you want. Since this is not a lead and follow drive there is no pressure to keep up with the group.
We will be ending at Kelley Parkin’s house in Runnells for the New Member Picnic.
The monies raised will be donated to Big Sisters of Iowa. This was MA Hill’s favorite charity. MA Hill was the first female president of Schonesland and was a fantastic spirit. She was loved by all and is greatly missed! Cost will be $25 per car. PICNIC
The Picnic is for all Schonesland Porsche Club members and our families. We welcome and celebrate our new members who joined the Schonesland Porsche Club last year. It's a chance for new and current members to get to know each other and show off those rides. The event runs from 12 noon to 2 pm. Delicious Barbeque Lunch is from Smokey D's and there is no charge to attend.
The event is being hosted by our member Kelley Parkins in Runnells, Iowa just outside Des Moines. The detailed address and driving directions will be provided at a later date to those who have registered for the Picnic. Thank you Kelley for your hospitality!
