About this event
PCA Potomac Autocross School
Are you interested in learning about Autocross? Or are you a relatively new autocrosser looking to hone in your skills? Come join us at the Potomac Pad of Summit Point Raceway (map) to learn the skills you'll use to succeed at Autocross, discover your car's capabilities and limitations, and develop your driving skills. This school will also give you a chance to practice maneuvers that will make your safer on the street.
The event is open to any driver, providing they have a car that will pass tech inspection. New Autocross drivers and PCA Potomac members will be given registration preference. Due to the format of the school, each participant must have his or her own car to drive.
Spots are limited, so register today! The registration fee of $135 includes lunch and beverages will be available throughout the day.
-Snell 2015 or newer helmets are required
-Complementary loaner helmets will be available courtesy of OG Racing for those who aren't yet ready to purchase their own
-Walkup registrations are not possible with this event due to the planning beforehand that is required.

-Lunch will be provided by Railside in a brown bag grab-and-go manner. A Google Forms link for your custom lunch order will be emailed to everyone closer to the event date.
Event requirements
PCA Potomac Autocross School
Anyone can participate and no prior experience is needed. Refer to our Rules and FAQ website pages for vehicle requirements. All drivers must have a current driver's license (no learners permits). Drivers under 18 (with valid driver's licence) are also welcome with the additional steps needed per our Junior Participant Program (details here)
Registration Status: All registered drivers will be placed in "New" status. Notification of Confirmed or Waitlist status will be sent via email one week before the event.
Waivers: You will be required to sign an online waiver using MSR's SpeedWaiver digital-signing module. As you register in MSR, you'll be asked to enter your cell number. Please list your actual number as MSR uses this to text you a personal link to the SpeedWaiver system.
Helmets: You must use a helmet with a Snell 2015 or newer SA (Special Applications) or M (Motorcycle) sticker. The helmet can be full face, open face, or open with a chin guard. The helmet should be rated for multiple impacts and have a fireproof liner.
Pay special attention to fit. The helmet should not be so tight that it brings on a headache, but your head should not rattle within it either. The goal is to have a helmet that is snug enough to prevent your head from having a distance to travel before hitting the padding.
Complementary loaner helmets will be available courtesy of OG Racing for those who aren't yet ready to purchase their own.
Tech Inspection: Tech inspections at autocross events will be conducted onsite at each event. We will be checking the basic safety condition of your car (e.g., tires are not excessively worn, no evidence of leaking fluids, brakes are operating properly, etc.).
Payments: Payment is deferred until 1 week before the event. Your credit card on file with Motorsportreg.com will be charged. If the event is full, you will be added to the MSR waitlist and payment will not be processed. If you are on the MSR waitlist, payment will be due only if you are notified via email that you have received a confirmed spot. At that time, payment must be made as directed (often within 24 hours or less) to confirm your spot or you will forfeit the spot. Please refer to our website for detailed payment, cancellation and refund policies: https://pcapotomac.org/activities/autocross/autocross-policies
Walk-Up Spots: No walk-up spots will be available for the school.
