DAILY SCHEDULE

On Monday we'll drive from our West Valley meeting location to Palm Springs, with a couple surprises on the way before we arrive at our hotel just a few blocks from the vibrant downtown scene. We'll take some time to socialize after check-in before we head to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway for the scenic ride up the mountain and a twilight dinner at the Peaks Restaurant.

Tuesday will feature a great loop drive up into the San Jacinto Mountains to the charming town of Idyllwild, where we will enjoy the cool mountain air and lunch at one of many good options in town. The drive back to Palm Springs will follow the Palms to Pines Scenic Byway, where spectacular views of the Coachella Valley loom around every corner as we follow the switchbacks down to the desert floor.
Dinner will be on your own back in Palm Springs.

Wednesday's plans take us from the desert up the scenic byway toward Temecula. After a stop for lunch we will visit the Doffo Winery and tour their amazing motorcycle collection (and maybe have a taste of their award-winning wines).
We will arrive at the Temecula Creek Inn in the afternoon, and you will have the rest of the day on your own. You may wish to just enjoy the relaxing ambience at the Inn, or you can take the 10-minute drive into Old Town Temecula: “This charming, walkable district includes popular restaurants, charming shops, beer and wine tasting rooms, museums, speakeasies, outdoor art, and a vibrant nightlife.” And there is also a complimentary shuttle from the Inn to the Pachanga Casino if that’s your thing!
Dinner is on your own that evening.

We have a busy day planned on Thursday, with several activities in which you may choose to participate. In the morning, we will take a great mountain drive to Palomar Observatory, where we can take in the exhibits at the Visitor Center and take a self-guided tour of the grounds. Another great Porsche route will take us back to our hotel in time for lunch (on your own) before your plans in the afternoon.

Optional wine tasting tour on the Temecula Wine Trolley: This private tour includes transportation from the Temecula Creek Inn to three boutique wineries, 5–6 tastings at each winery, bottled water and light snacks, a professional driver and personal host, discounts on bottle purchases and merchandise, a memorable Instagram video, and more. The trolley can accommodate a maximum of 20 people, so space is limited for our group. You can select this option when you register on MotorsportReg.
Optional drive: For those who do not sign up for the trolley tour, we have an afternoon drive planned to an interesting destination. Or again, you may just choose to hang out at the Inn for a few hours before dinner.

Thursday evening dinner: On our final night we will gather for a private reception on the Sage Patio at the Temecula Creek Inn, followed by a dinner buffet featuring this very special menu:

  • Creamy Lobster Bisque
  • Baby Iceberg Wedge Salad roasted tomato, pickled onions, chives, bleu cheese crumbles, bleu cheese dressing
  • Asparagus and Artichoke Salad
  • Baked Potato Bar
  • Roasted Brussels Sprouts
  • Entrées:  Sliced New York Strip with wild mushroom & onion confit with stone house bordelaise; Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon with charred citrus butter sauce & garden herbs
  • Dessert: Lemon Cheesecake; Flourless Chocolate Torte

On Friday we travel home. If you don’t want to take the freeways all the way, a route is planned that follows scenic, twisty roads past Julian and Anzo-Borrego State Park, then onto I-8 for the final stretch back to the Valley.
