Slip Happens
Sonoma Raceway Paddock – Auto-X / Controlled Drift
4/15 (Wednesday Night): 5 pm-10 pm
Where traction ends and skill begins.
Welcome to the SPEED SF Wednesday Night Series at Sonoma Raceway — featuring Slip Happens.
This isn’t a drift event.
And it’s not a traditional autocross either.
Slip Happens is an Auto-X–style course designed to help drivers of all levels explore the limits of grip, manage oversteer, and enjoy controlled rotation in a safe, structured environment — all while having a great time with friends.
Who It’s For
- First-time drivers looking to build real car control
- Autocrossers wanting faster corner exits
- Track day drivers improving rotation and balance
- Experienced drivers refining throttle modulation
- Anyone curious about driving at the limit — safely
All skill levels are welcome.
What It’s Not
- Not a drift competition
- Not full-course drifting
- Not unlimited smoke sessions
- No full race drift cars
Controlled oversteer is permitted in designated sections, with safety and course flow as the priority.
Why Slip Happens?
Because real speed comes from understanding what happens beyond grip.
Because fast drivers rotate the car — they don’t just steer it.
Because confidence at the limit translates everywhere else.
And let’s be honest…
