About this event
Since its formation, the Smoky Mountain Tennessee region has made it a tradition to gather every Spring for a weekend of fun, friends, and Porsche events. We invite you to join us in for our 50th Spring Thing! in April, 2026.
To celebrate, we have expanded to a larger facility - the MeadowView Resort and Conference Center in Kingsport, TN.
This year our event begins on Thursday, April 23rd and continues through Saturday evening. We have a lot planned for the weekend:
Thursday - Early arrivals / Concours preparation
Friday - Concours / Luncheon / Driving Tour
- Evening Reception with hors d'oeuvres and cash bar
Saturday - Autocross / Awards Banquet Dinner
Sunday - Continental Breakfast / Departure
Optional activities include Golf packages, Spa packages, and a Speakeasy event

Prior to registration, please take a moment to confirm your contact information and vehicle details in MotorsportReg.com. Remember to include any information about vehicle modifications so our organizers can properly classify your car for competitive events. During registration you will be able to select the vehicle you choose to enter in Concours or Autocross.
Helpful hint - use the name you preferred to be called by in your MotorsportReg.com profile (e.g. Bob vs. Robert, Sue vs. Susan, etc.). It simplifies registration and social interaction.
Register on MotorsportReg.com before booking the hotel. After you finish the registration, you will receive a specific link to secure a discounted room rate for Spring Thing at the MeadowView Resort.

Event requirements
Concours
The Concours will be held on-site at the MeadowView Resort on Thursday morning from 9:00 - 11:00 AM in (details needed). Car staging and final prep will be from 7:00 - 8:45 AM, with judging starting promptly at 9:00 AM. Trophies will be awarded at the Awards Banquet.
A Concours is a competitive car show to award recognition to the owners of automobiles that are best prepared and presented. To simplify things and promote more competition within groups, we will hold only "Street Class" this year. This is in keeping with the majority of entries we typically receive for this event. For more information about classes please see Concours Class Descriptions. This also appears later in the registration process.
“Street” (also called "Wash and Shine"): This involves the judging of the car's interior and exterior only (no engine, trunk, or undercarriage). Originality is not a consideration, only cleanliness. "Street" is the class for those interested in showing their cars with some preparation, but not HOURS of meticulous cleaning.
Guided driving Tour
This year you have the option during registration to choose if you would like to participate in a guided driving tour on Friday afternoon.
Autocross
This year we have a new, larger location for the Autocross at Sullivan Heights Middle School, just 10 minutes from the MeadowView Resort.
An autocross is a timed motorsports competition where drivers individually navigate a temporary course marked by traffic cones, focusing on car control and driver skill rather than top speed. It is a safe, low-cost, and accessible way to get into motorsports, as almost any street-legal car can participate.
The Autocross will open Saturday morning at 8:30 AM with access to the course for walking at 9:00 AM, drivers meeting at 9:30 AM, and first car off at 10:00 AM.
For help selecting a class please see Autocross Classes. This also appears later in the registration process. Please add your vehicle information to your Motorsport.reg profile including modifications during the registration process. This information is necessary for proper competitive classification.
Awards Banquet
This year we will feature a sit down dinner with your choice of entrees.
