About this event
The October Surprise Rally has two parts; 1) a time-speed-distance (TSD) portion, and 2) an A-B style portion. The A-B portion is a series of non-mathematical brain teasers that will keep things interesting. Instructions on how to perform the rally will be given during the pre-rally competitor’s meeting. This rally is designed to be fun for all with simple instructions and a scenic route using well maintained paved public roads. The duration of the rally is less than 4 hours including breaks. The Richta scoring and timing system will be used for the TSD portion of the rally. Participants will need to download the FREE Richta Competitor app to their smart phone. Information about the Richta Competitor app is available at: richtarally.com. The General Instructions will be emailed to the contestants.
First car out at 10:01 AM. A competitor’s meeting will be held starting at 9:30 AM. Awards will be given to first place in each class. Awards beyond first place in class dependent upon number of entries. This event is open to the public, all types of cars, not just Porsches.
The October Surprise Rally is the first of an occasional series of fun and less mathematical rallies, intending to offer a challenge combined with some fun puzzles. This rally is not a part of the 2024 TSD rally series.

Event requirements
All cars regtistered for the rally must have a primary driver and a navigator who is at least 13 years of age. A PCA general liability waiver must be signed by all participants and will be texted to you following successful registration. This will be done through Speedwaiver via text message. It is recommended that the Richta app be downloaded prior to the rally. If the navigator is between the ages of 13 and 17 then a special release form must be obtained and signed and presented at the check-in on October 18th.
