Join your fellow GMR members on a 100 mile journey on Vermont’s iconic Route 100. Our trip will commence at the Middlesex, Vermont "Park and Ride" and end at Hildene House, The Lincoln Family Home in Manchester VT. The home built by Robert and Mary Lincoln, was built in 1905 several years after becoming president of the Pullman Company, the largest manufacturing corporation at the turn of the 20th century. Of note, Robert was the only child of Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln to survive into adulthood.
The tour will cover approximately 110 miles of twists and turns traveling south on Vermont State Route 100. We will begin gathering at the Middlesex Park and Ride (4 Knapp Rd, Middlesex, VT 05602) at 8.30am with a planned tour departure of 9.30am. The tour will cover approximately 110 miles with arrival at Hildene House around 1.30pm. We will take a short mid-tour break along the way. Upon arrival at Hildene House will have a catered sandwich buffet provided by Erik Peckel Catering. After lunch you will be on your own to explore the property. The cost, including lunch and admission to Hildene, is $50 per person.
The buffet menu will include a variety of sandwiches, chips, cookies, brownies, lemonade and unsweetened iced tea. The sandwiches will inlcude Turkey Club Wraps, Caprese Sandwich, Vermont Ham Panini, Roast Beef with Boursin Cheese and Herb Chicken Salad.
